FX5 Flowrate Reduction

ok, so it seems as if you can just use the aquastop valves to reduce the flow, but is this ok for the filter?

anyone do this currently?

do you turn both the intake/outtake valves? just one?

anyone with experience, feel free to chime in!

I currenly am running an FX5 at about half flow for my UV. With the smart pump it is supposed to adjust itself and shouldnt cause any problems.
