Just glanced on eBay and see a few sales for brand new FX5 filters for $199 shipped. On DrsFS it's $299 + tax+ shipping. Other places I see $249+

So... this seems like a pretty good deal, right?

Also, would this be good for a 125gal? Can I do Fluval 404 or 405 instead? Would FX5 be overkill?

Thanks!

fx5 would be great for a heavily stocked 125, but a 405 would be underkill, price match an xp3, and an ac 110 from drfostersmith, and take the adds to petsmart.

I already do have two AC110s - do you think I could get away with an AC110 and an XP3? And, from what I hear Fluvals are much better than Rena filters - and an XP3 at DrsFS is $110 (with the CK code) - with tax and shipping, if I add a little more I may as well get an FX5...

yeah in my opninion the fx5 is the best way to go, its also the most expensive get a spray bar if the current is to much.

If its heavily stocked I would use the ac110 with it so you can use the ammonia bag for it which I think work great. I don't think you can have too much filtration in my opinion especially overstocked.
