To anyone with the fluval FX5/FX6 canister filter. If you're having noise come from the "motor", check the impeller. If there is slop/movement between the cover plate magnet and impeller itself then, try to slide the magnet towards the top to tighten up the gaps. This should get rid of all your noise completely.
