FX5 gurgling.....

My FX5 continually makes gurgling/wooshing noises I am assuming this is due to trapped air so I switch it off/ on again at least once per day and it does void a lot of air but still the noises.... also the flow is rubbish compared to what it once was even after cleaning. i think i may need to give it a complete 'service' take all the media trays out rinse etc and clean the impellor(not been cleaned so far...been running for a year....).

Any thoughts.....

I had the same problem. I would hear the wooshing sounds and I would get very fine bubbles spraying out of the return. I wouldn't keep reseting it on your own because the filter is programed to automatically purge itself every 24 hours.

What I did to fix it was exactly what you mentioned. I gave it a good cleaning and replaced the media with LESS volume and it's been fine ever since.

Took everything out thinned down the media....doh I also had the media back to front I had my coarse mechanical media on the bottom instead of the top...so my floss/polishing pads were getting clogged almost instantly. I also had a lot of sand in the bottom; i'll have to monitor this and go right to the bottom on every clean, anyway now great flow no gurgling
