I'm in the middle of a diy project and need to lengthen the input and output hoses on my Fx5. I just so happen to have about 15' of 3/4" vynal tubing laying around. The standard Fx5 tubing is 1" ID, could I reduce it to 3/4" ID without damaging the filter? I figure nothing would happen other then a bit more outlet pressure, but I'm not 100% sure.

Your thoughts?

EDIT: the ID of the valve on top of the canister is 3/4 already, if that factors into this at all. (not a plumber lol)

Shouldn't bother it at all; I hard piped both of mine with 3/4" pvc with no negative affects.

Thanks for the reassurance. I figure the stock 1" ribbed tubing that comes with the fx5, could be more restrictive then a smooth 3/4" vynal hose anyway.

You'll be fine running 3/4" ID hoses on the FX5. The fittings that attach the hose to the filter itself are 3/4 inch ID so its not like you're introducing a new constriction into the system that wasn't there before.
