i cant get the lid to seal and it shoots water out like crazy no matter how tight i put it any suggestions? its been running for about 4 months with no problem

it dosnt even seem to have a rubber seal on the inside of the lid...should it have one? i honestly have never noticed it to have one, and its work fine up until about 5 mins ago when i opened it to clean the filter pads....hmmmmmmmmmm

There is a seal, a little hidden but its there. If its not there it would have been leaking from the onset, double check that everything is lined up properly then find the seal and put a small amount of petroleum jelly on it.

Yes that is the right part but definitely check inside the filter and the pads to see if it fell inside when you put the lid back on. Also check the sink and floor where you cleaned the filter.

avoid the petrol based products and use a latex lubricant. Oil is no good for fish tanks!!!

what is wrong with them? This is what is recommended by the companies that design the filters, why would fluval tell us to do something that is wrong?
