I'm due to set uo my FX5 on my 100G soon which houses polys, Silver Dollars and Dats. It will also have an Eheim 2252 internal as well (1200lph).
As the Eheim will provide decent mechanical filtration I just wondered what people would advise I put in the FX5 (I already have some Eheim substrat-Pro).
Whay do you people put in yours?
Cheers ROB

I have 2 FX5s running on my 180gal. The best media arrangement I've discoved is:

top tray: fluval mech
middle tray: ehiem pro sub II w/ pollishing pad on top
bottom tray: eheim pro sub II

Good luck bro.

:iagree:

Similar to mine and my water is crystal clear looks liek the fish are floating the only thing i do different is put a polishing pad on top of all bio media

I currently have on my 150 tall

Top- Fluval Mech
Middle-Purigen/Eheim sub
Bottom- Biohome

Tank is crystal clear...

Tank also has another fx5 running on it with the same setup but with no purigen and it is hooked to a 36 watt UV and the flow WAY down

Might be a silly query but by 'Fluval Mech' do you mean the ceramic ring media?
Thanks for your advice BTW
