fx5 media placment

I've just got a fx5 filter and I'm trying to work out which media I need and were to put it.
The filter came with pot scrubbers and bio balls, but I've heard there not the best for canister filters. So I was going to use something like fluval biomax media, but would I be able to use biomax in all 3 trays or should I use something else in some of them?

Bio media on my fx5's goes in the bottom two comparments, I use biomax as it was cheap on sale at the time.

absolutely nothing wrong with 3 trays of biomax

How many 500g boxes of biomax would I need to fill all 3 trays?

Probably 5, could always try 4 and add more later.

Would it be worth putting pot scrubbers in 1 tray or is it better to just have biomax in all 3?

I was told scrubbies work but the big name bio media like biomax has way more surface area for bacteria than scrubbies do so if you can afford to fill it with biomax you will be able to grow a bigger bio filter with the biomax and suchlikes.
