FX5 noisy as h..

Hi guys.

I'm in desperate need of your help. My FX5 Has been driving me crazy for 2 weeks now.

I have taken the pump house off, and there is nothing wrong looking about it. No dirt, no nothing :S

It's incredibly loud, and the vibrations go all through my house :S

I just cannot find a reason for it to be malfunctioning like this. But then again, i am a noob when it comes to pumps, and how they work.

ANY and ALL ideas/suggestions/solutions are welcome, as i am desperate lol.

It could be anything...

-make sure that there's no slack in the hoses.
-check hoses, input and outlet for blockage.
-make sure the media baskets have a some room on top of each media.. I have mines at least 1" away from the other basket.
If u haven't tried these yet. Give it a try.. Hope it will fix the problem!
 
Thanks i haven't actually checked the hoses yet! Completely forgot about those.

I'll try it in the morning and see if it helps :)

Unfortunatly, clearning the hoses did not make any difference :(

I'd remove the pump and thoroughly clean the impellor itself.
This might sound silly but if its vibrating through the house then I'd check the bottom of it and maybe stand it on something soft like a towel to see if that helps?
 
Sounds like an impeller issue.
 
Yea, check and clean the impeller. You had it for 7 months and noise/vibration just started 2 weeks ago? Have you ever fully cleaned the impeller?
 
I cleaned it thoroughly and scolding hot water, it looks brand new.

I have even placed the pump on a piece of styrofoam, and i still hear the pump vibrating throgh the walls up to the 2nd floor in my bedroom.

It's so weird.
