I was wondering if it'd work out well to use pvc and make a dual outlet system that comes out on each end of my aquarium. I have a 210 gallon aquarium. It currently has a fx5, rena xp4, hydro v connected to a powerhead, and 2 aquaclear 110s. The intakes for the fx5 and xp4 are in the center about 4 inches apart. The xp4 on the left and fx5 on right. The output for the fx5 is in the far right back corner. The spraybar on the xp4 is on the left wall of the aquarium shooting towards the surface and down the length of the tank. I hope that's enough information. Thanks.

Why not?
Do remember that the outlet nearest to the FX5 would have a much greater output since water takes the path of least resistance.

I guess I should probably use the flexible vinyl tubing instead of pvc to limit the water redirection. Should I use 1/2 inch tubing after the T to keep good flow or would bigger tubing like 1 inch be better? Thanks.

1" ID tubing from the FX5 to 1" pvc. 1" PVC to PVC "T" then 1 inch pvc to each end of the tank. I would not drop to half inch because the smaller the pipe the more friction on the sides and elbows comes into play. (imo)
and most fish don't like being pressure washed

Thanks. I'll try that. I'm out of town for a few days. I got the idea from another user connecting an fx5 to a drilled tank with dual outlets. I figured just spreading around the water from the fx5 in the tank would help it be cleaner. Whenever I clean the canisters the fx5 is way dirtier than the xp4. I actually took the fine filter pad out of the rena because whenever I cleaned the filters the fx5 would be filthy and the fine filter pad in the xp4 would be kind of dirty. When I rinsed the regular foam in the xp4 it was almost spotless because the flow was cut down from the fine pad. I added the aquaclear 110s to mainly help with mechanical filtration since they're easier to clean. That way I have to open the canister
s less.

I built my own spray bar for my 125 with an FX5....used 3/4 drinking water pipe which is thinner gauge then the regular 3/4 works great.

I am going to make spray bars for my FX5 set up and will use 1" except for in the tank I will use 3/4" because I just dont want as large of a pipe inside the tank. My bar will be 30" with 3/16" to 1/4" holes drilled every 1".

i made the output for my FX5 out of PVC last month.. i didn't split it though, you're on your own on that one. but here are pics of what i did.
