1 fx5 enough for a 6x1.5x2 tank? single specimen tank....

what you think?

The tank you describe is approximately 130 gallons. A single FX5 is probably a bit excessive, but still a reasonably good fit. I would be sure to adjust the discharge nozzles upward to a 1:00 or 2:00 position to avoid excessive turbulence within your tank.

fx5 should be great with that setup!

I'll be putting an Fx5 on my 135 gal tank also within a few days. my tank has the same dimensions as yours, so i think its a great idea.the turn over rate will be a little more than 7x's an hour.

The turnover rate will be more like 5 tops.probably closer to 4 1/2.
But the FX 5 will still be great for your setup.
I'd still run a HOB for extra mechanical filtration.:)

I run 2 fx5s on my 180 gallon and the water is perfect. Not sure if one will be enough on your tank but it will come close i would think.

I run 3 FX5s on my 150 and the water is great but it is heavily stocked. You should be fine withone

I have an FX5 and it should be fine on that setup. I have a Eheim 2260 on my 180 and prefer it. You might consider that. They are about the same price, but the eheim comes empty. You could get creative filling it and it wouldnt hit your wallet so hard. It holds 18L of media and even though the FX5 is rated at a higher gph, I believe the Eheim pushes more water.

On a side note, the eheim has been out for many years as the FX5 is fairly new, IMO it is much more reliable as well.
