FX5 Price questions...need answer quick!

I found a deal on a USED FX5 for 125 and can go pick it up today. Or I can order it NEW off a website for 220 shipped.

Which is the better deal? I don't mind used but don't know if buying a used filter is a no no. Am I going to end up spending that extra hundred on media? Heard it is expensive for the FX5 but haven't priced it yet.

it all depends on what you get. some media is more expensive than others (brand names) but that is a good deal on the used fx5 but i would make sure everything works properly and check EVERYTHING out from bottom to top.

Those filters are pretty solid. Just make sure it works. The $220 is not bad for new. I got mine for $170 new but that was an accidental deal on the sellers part. I got it from Amazon Warehouse Deals. It was supposed to be a return item but when it shipped to me, it was still sealed. the next day the website had the "used" ones at $235 like the new ones.

FYI, Amazon has the FX5 for $219.90 with free shipping right now. That might be where you were looking already.

Yeah amazon was where I found it for 220. I just didn't know the rules of posting something like that. I think they're both good deals. Going to check out the used one today and run it to make sure its working good.

If there is nothing wrong with the used item I would go for that.
