fx5 pump failure, whos had it?

hey all, my pump failed on my 3 year old fx5 last sunday...! gutting but got an fx6 pump to fit today, gonna crack on in a bit. just curious to how many people have actually had one fail?? my pump done the pulsing failure, basically pumping then not in quick secession.

so me...

I have two FX5's on my 210g and they have been running for 3-1/2 years with no issues. Sorry to hear yours died.

i run an fx5 and fx6, plus an internal canister on my 300g, glad the new motor arrived so quickly, can really see the crud floating around today!!

im in the uk, ebay uk cost £130 for the motor impeller assembly complete and it an fx6 one, bolts straight to the fx5!-)

I have five Fx 5's that are 3 to 5 years old .. Never replaced a motor, but replaced. 3 impellers .. Since the price of the FX6 is over 300.00 usd .
I'm only buying Eheim now as fluvals die..

That is the another flaw they have. The timing chip so it shuts down to let the air out that shouldn't be there in the first place, and the motor on the bottom so it can ingest sand and tear the impeller up.
I have an FX5. I have two Eheim 2262's with the pump up top. Waiting for another sale so I can get another.
