Ive had my fx5 for about 8 months now it has been working great! its full of biomax and that's it.
I cleaned it out for the first time in 3 or 4 months the other day, and to my surprise it really wasn't THAT dirty, granted, this is on a 75 gallon with one 13" fish and that's it.
I put it all back together and now the pump is making a buzzing sound like somethings caught in it.
I took it completely apart to see if there was something stuck and i found nothing, put it back together, still makes the noise. I took the pump off and took the impeller and everything out, i needed a star tool (with a hole in the middle) to take it apart any further
Its pretty loud and abnoxious, definitely coming from the pump, i can get a video if needed.
I have 3m color quarts T grade as substrate and i find some in the filter sometimes but it has never hurt it.
I dont want to buy a 168 dollar replacement pump for it i might as well buy another one for 200! which i dont wanna do.
Has anybody else had this problem?
any advice?
