Fx5 question

ok i just ordered a brand new fx5 today and i was wondering if anyone has any tips i think i wanna put the media in like this: TOP- fluval zeo-carb MIDDLE- BioMax and carbon BOTTOM- BioMax and a polishing pad on top of that


any comments will b appreciated

your going to want the polishing pad in the top tray

why does the polishing pad need to be on the top tray every thing ive read says bottom

because you want the cleanest of water, if its on the bottom all the big particles are going to hit it first and it will get clogged extremely fast

your going to want the polishing pad in the top tray

You want your Blue pads on the first tray. Polishing pads on the bottom.

Blue pads...carbon if the like= Top tray
Biomax then blue pads= middle tray
Biomax then polishing pads= Bottom tray.

you want to catch all the large particals first. Polishing pads will catch the smaller ones on the bottom.

i run pre filter top tray
biomax the rest. probably should add a polishing pad

I have two of them,pre filter top carbon second polishing pad top of biomax. great filters water is crystal clear.

guess i mixed up the flow with my 305 so ya then the other way around what everyone else is saying

I run one filter pad and that is it. Stuff the rest with 5 liters of Ehfisubstrate Pro. I use two
other types HOB for Mechanical filtration.
