Fx5 question

Ok i bought a fx5 and the water flow out of it isnt really strong. I have 2 other Fx5's that i bought new and its a night and day difference on water flow. Anyone ever have this happen??

i have 2 and both have high flow .. both i tested empty (other then the stock foam) to make sure they have good flow so that i could get replacements if needed

Yeah 2 have high flow but my 3rd doesn't. Only thing in mine are bio balls and sponges....nothing else.

Remove the pump and make sure the impeller is not binding on the shaft or anywhere else in the housing.

The impellar may be dirty or damaged. Also, check the inner circles to see if they are clogged. I use a fine pad that quickly clogs and decreases flow significantly.

As mentioned, confirm there are no unexplained restrictions... impellor, water flow's path. excessive bends/kinks in tubing, etc...

If you cannot explain the difference I would promptly contact the seller...

i know this is an old thread but i just cut off aabout 2 feet of unnecessary hose and what i huge difference it makes to the flow, for the first time since i had this filter i feel as though it is working great

How strong should the flow be back into the tank? If you put your hand in front of spout how strong should it feel?

Just doing a water change on my 180 now. The filter was serviced a month ago and both outlets almost reach the front glass. Aimed 45 deg from outlet hose and angled upwards to move surface water. Really happy with this monster. Will service in 2 or 3 weeks.
