well im getting my fx5 for my 120 gallon in the mail and i was wonddering if i hooked up the filter next to the tank would it ruin the flow rate or does it HAVE to be underneath the tank/
It doesnt have to sit directly below the tank, it just needs to be at a lower level than the tank. As long as its sitting right next to the tank, and you aren't adding feet of tubing to and from the filter, your flow rate won't be affected.
