okay im a knucklehead and ive lost my hose for my other fx5, that or the wife carted it away not knowing what it was...anyhow ill leave that one alone, it wouldnt be a first.
somewhere here at one time someone was talking about useing different hose for it but i cant find the thread.
i dont mind using the ribbed hose and im wondering if i could get it at lowes?? i found replacement hose for it online but it was pretty pricey and on top of that i want this hooked up yesterday.
can anyone help me out? will any 24mm hose work as long as its not treated with anything? im thinking it will but wanted to ask in case i was overlooking something.
thanks in advance
mike

FYI...I picked up replacement FX5 hoses on ebay for $18.95. However, I understand that you want an immediate solution and yes, any 24 mm/1" ID hose should work. I would go to Lowes and get some small pieces, take them home and perform test fits, just to be sure. Personally, I would use the interbraided hose.

thanks brian, sounds like a good plan as inspecting the small peice i had left over from my other fx5 it does look awful thin.

I've thought about this a bit more and it occurs to me that the rubber fittings on the intake stem and output nozzles may not fit securely on tubing with a smooth exterior. These fittings may require the corrugations present on the original FX5 tubing to stay attached.

the hose i got is the same inside diamiter but a little larger outside, i was worried but barely fit. the other end is tightened with hose clamp. we will find out soon.

the only problem i see with using a hose thats not the OEM stuff is that most 1" hose is not that flexible and will have a hard time getting up and in your tank b/c that is a 180bend

that is for sure something to consider koop. ill hook it up and see how it looks, if im not satisfied then i will bite the bullet and buy the intended hose. thanks guys
