fx5"s whos using them? and what kind of media and why?

I just ordered a fx5 it should be here tomorrow , and Im wondering what media I will need to run it ..It will be filtering a 100gal with 5 8inch Birchirs and 5 5inch eartheaters so far.. thanks ahead of time wenndellm

I have mine on my 110. I run all three baskets ceramic rings. With that stock list I would run all three bio media too. I buy my foam pads from ebay their a lot cheaper.

I have 1 on each of my 1253 + W/Ds, and 2 on my 300 + a W/D. All have seachem matrix in all baskets.

I also get my pads from ebay. Its 12 pads for like $22 or something. Great deal, but they seem to deteriorate a little faster than the ones that came with my FX5s.

I'm using these rings in two FXs. A 25lb box was more than enough to fill both. Was delivered to me here in Canada in eight days and was only about $125 with shipping. It would have cost way more that $200 to buy them at the LFS up here.

I have one on my 125. I use the polishing bads along with the bio media and lots and lots of carbon to make the water nice and clear.

im using filter pads ,bio rings and carbon in mine.
