I have two 125gal tanks and I have (1) 125gal that currenly runs a fx5 Awesome:headbang2. My Question is my other tank will not fit FX5 under it cause the doors are two small I can barely fit my Eheim Pro 2 and Pro 3 under it. So I was wondering if I can put the FX5 under the other tank and run the lines over to the other tank? Also is it possible to cut the intake down because it's to long. If I was to mount the intake I pretty sure it would hit my sand and that could be a problem with the FX5.
please let me know thanks!

I have a similar problem with my 150. The doors are to narrow to allow me to put it in or to take it out while fully assembled. What I do when I need to clean it is purge all the water out and remove the top, that allows me enough clearance to be able to remove my FX5 for maintenance.

As far as the intake, yes you can cut it to the desired length.

Hope that helps

the filter as to be at least 7'' below the water line and u don't go over 15' in total line used ur ok. dont u have the DVD that came with ur other FX 5? it states in there

Yes I saw the dvd but I forgot that part but thanks for the info!

You can just cut off the filter intake tube to whatever length you need. Good job on making those openings bigger. The lines need to be as straight as possible with a little slack.

My Lines will not be going straight meaning up and down they will be at a angle going from left to right from one tank to the other that shouldn't be a problem or will it?

On mine I have my fx 5 in a utillity room with the hoses going through a hole in the wall up to the top in the tank each hose is 7 foot long and I have no problems at all. My flow might be reduced but it is still over 500 gph that's as high as my meter goes.
