Fx5 stopped working

Not a whole lot to go on. Does it make any sound at all, do you feel any suction from the intake, did you try filling the filter with aquarium water before plugging it back in, etc.?
 
can you hear the impeller spinning? a chunk of gunk may have gotten logged in the impeller while you were cleaning it out. did you refill it with water before you put it back together? you may have lost your siphon in your lines. if you disconnected your lines from the pump while your water was down it may have lost siphon causing the canister to not fill. try repriming it manually.
 
I did put water in the canister before I put the lid back on. I don't feel any suction when it is plugged in. You know the movement you feel inside the canister when it's on? I don't feel that on mine. How do I prime it manually.

Mine did that once but it just started working after pulling the motor off and putting it back on.
 
How old is the filter? Perhaps the motor took an early spring break vacation.
