FX5 Thoughts!

I'm just wondering what other's thoughts are about the FX5. I've heard good and bad things about the filter.

I'm thinking about going with the FX5 for Mechanical and doing something else for Bio.

it's got plenty of room for media, fill the baskets with bio max and you're golden!

Basically, it's a big sponge and makes for excellent mechanical filtration. It does have good media capacity so it does provide good biological and it's got the best flow rate of pretty much any canister out there for the price.

EHEIM canisters can provide better biological filtration but on a large tank are normally better used as a secondary filter. The FX5 is pretty much regarded as the king of canisters second only to the extremely expensive EHEIMs.

Mine is a beast, I have one on my 240g. I keep the sponges it comes with and stuff the rest of it full of bio media. Never had a problem.
