What are your thoughts on swapping out a less than 1 yr old FX5 for a new AC110on a 75g?

Or just keep the FX5 and add the AC110 as additional filtration.

My reasoning for doing this for ease of maintenance. I know I will be cleaning the 110 more often, but each time should be quick(er) and easy. Right now it is a huge pain to clean the FX5. I live on the second floor and do not have easy access to a hose. Using the bathtub to empty / clean it isn't really an option. (According to my wife)

^^^^ + 1 i didn't see this post before lol
I have an ac110 and fx5 on my 135.
But on my ac110 i just have foam pad on it and i clean that about every other water change. And the fx5, i only have bio rings in it and the foam pad it came with. I believe i didn't need to clean it for about 4 months and my water was still crystal clear..

OK, right now I have the FX5 setup as follows from Top to Bottom:

1st basket
Fluval Pre-filter media

2nd
Blue pad
Ceramic Rings

3rd
Blue Pad
Seachem Matrix

Once I receive the 110 I will remove the pads and add more bio media in the top tray...

And you will be good to go once you take out those blue pads! And put that media in. Forsure less maintenance on the filter.
