My 1 yr old fx5 took a crap on me .. the motor still runs fine and when I fill it up and close the top on it (silled) it shots water to the ceiling in my basement.. when I try to cycle it in the tank it shots out bubbles and very little output as far as the current of water .. Im at my witts end with the thing :.. Ive cleaned the thing , took the impeller out cleaned it all looks well .. is it something Im missing.. for it to be a yr old , that's a lot of money for the thing not to work any more.. I actually Kind of pissy.. please help.. thanks WendellM good thing it not the only filter I have on my 125..

If it's shooting out water and hits the ceiling i'd say it's fine, but when you hook the hoses up on the tank and just get bubbles maybe you have a crack in a hose and sucking air in..

Check and see if there is any caught in or blocking the hoses themselves. They may need cleaning out.

thought about the tubes being cluged so I hard plumbed it with some pvc piping .. did a good job and the output is still minimum at best.. If I fill the canister up with water and plug it in it shoots it out pretty good, all the way to the ceiling.. I just don't get it..!!!

so when you did the ceiling test was that with or without media?

also when you added the new plumbing did you keep in mind pipe size as well as head? I remember reading that it shouldn't be more than 4.8' from the outlet to the top of the tank.
