FX5? WTH?

What happened to the FX5's on eBay that were $200 shipped? They're now at least 275 shipped for a new BuyItNow one. I wanted a decent, cheap high-flow filter for mechanical for my new 300 and then I was going to build a sump for bio. Anyone know where I can still get one?


I would get a 2262 w/ quick-releases on MarineDepot for 430, but I'm trying to save a little money and the media to fill it is outrageous. I just don't know if an FX5 is worth $275 when you can get a 2260 for $300 even though you still have to get the quick-connects and it's only rated at 500 GPH.
 
Hagen has started a new policy of minimum pricing. To keep the big chains and online stores from undercutting smaller lfs. A good policy imo. We have to pay a little more, but now the lfs shops can compete a little better.
 
I noticed this as well. That kinda sucks. Good for some of the other manufacturers though. $200 was a steal on that filter. I'm glad that I purchased one before they went up. I'm guessing though that you can get another one pretty cheap if you keep your eyes out.
 
thanks for the quick replies. I am going to bid on a new one and see if I can get it for a good price...not that 275 is really a bad price at all...i just dropped some good money on the tank

Thank god , Doing this now before this turns into the fiasco of the AC110 and their pricing adjustment due solely to customer interest. :irked:
