What is the minimum size tank you would put one on?

I Don't use the FX5 on anything smaller than 200 gallons personally. I use a combination of filters on all of our tanks and that's just a waste of energy. The Fluval 404/405 does an exelent job of mechanical filtration (the only thing I use cannisters for) at a much lower price.

Depends on what/how you are stocking....

Ive seen people use them on a 100g. tank before.
