Fx6 as a water polisher?

So I've recently (3months ago) set up a 500 gal system. I have a 75 gal sump for k1, heaters and polishing pads. That runs into a 160gal sump with 2x 200 micron filter socks and then sh1t loads of lava rock and ceramic rings. The chemical water quality is fine. But the clarity under brighter lighting makes it look cloudy. The water quality has been stable the full time the tank has been set up. Water changes 30% every 3 days. It turns over 8000ltres an hour.
Theres also a 36 watt uv which does make a difference but it's no crystal. There's also a 6000lph wave make and a 3000 ltr per hour wave make to move the water around.
My issue is feeding muscle and white bait I need more to polish the water. Is it wrth spending £200 on an fx6 or is there a better way?

Switch to 100 micron socks. You will change them more, but it is cheaper and will do the same thing. I had the same problem but switching to 100 mic socks took care of it.

I use this on my fx5 and fx6 SeaChem Purigen Aquarium, hope it help

I hear good things about purigen.
My advice is buy a second hand fx5 for £80 and just load it with mechanical.
Deffo don't buy a new fx6, you don't need that, even a cheap APS full of mechanical would do it

I agree with Rodger. I went from 200 micron socks to a mix of 100 and 50 and made a huge difference. Change them more often but worth it
