Hey fish people, my fx6 keeps stopping dead. If I take it apart and put it back together it will start. But after a day it will stop again. Sometimes if I keep unplugging it and plugging it back in it will start again. Would blocked pipes stop it dead?

I have sand. But I keep opening it up nearly every time it stops. There is the same amount of sand in each fx6 but this is the only one that stops dead dead. Usually when there is sand in there it makes a grinding sound.
I have a 16 inch disc stingray. A 12 inch red pike. Three 6 inch silver dollars. A 4 inch Oscar. Three 5 inch wood catfish and a 4 inch musk turtle.

Same thing happened to my FX6. I replaced the motor and it has been working fine ever since. Here's another recent thread dealing with basically the same thing: Fluval FX4 Stopped Working
The motors are quite expensive. And I’m on a budget at the minute. I’ve heard the fx6 motor is the same as the fx5. Is that right?
