fx6 purge valve leaking

hi mines is leaking and i was wondering how do i take it out and replace it?

Twist counterclockwise and it will pull right out.

No problem. Is yours leaking around the valve? I have had to replace 2 of mine. Do you have sand in your tank? The reason I ask is I do and was wondering if that could be the cause of the leak.

Yea mines leaking on the bottom the valve and inside. I got sand too. Just ordered new valve. Did you put silicone on the rings? I want to know what silicone is fish safe.

I just removed the old one and put the new one in. Fluval did not recommend anything. It hasn’t leaked on either one and it’s been a year on the one.
