From scratch and a used dry canister filter:

Tank: 125 gallon
water: tap water
heater: 250w
Filter: used and dried Rena xp3

I did not think about this till after. But I cant iamagin our AZ tap water being this perfect. So 8 hrs running with fish food added and a small baby convict that died in the water. And at the 8hr mark. I added one tablespoon of "SeaChem Safe" and 4 hours later I did a test. And in the picture the tube on the left is "Amonia" and the tube on the right is nitrAte"

I have 2 master test kits one of which is like a month old. And both had the same results. "SeaChem Safe" Will always be on my supply shelf. Oh, and no Carbon or any chemical filtration. Filter floss, Bio balls, and G.I.Joe men.
