IN A PLACE
I recently acquired a 16"-18" g. poly from a fellow mfk member. It is acclimating nicely in a 46g tank and eating market shrimp off a skewer.

I am keeping it with the following fish with no issues: 7" frontosa, 4" NGT datnoid, 5" silver catfish, and a 9" top layer swimming fish who shall remain nameless at this time. My grand plan is to grow out the eel to the 30-36" range and add it to my 1100g tank with larger community-style monsters like RTGG, kelberi bass, datnoid, silver arrowana, pike cichlids, rosequeen cichlid, and wide bar silver dollars. I'm not sure if this will be possible! These seem pretty fragile and not a good fit, even when long, they pretty skinny.

What other fish are the rest of the g. poly keepers keeping with their eels????

I'm keeping mine with 20 Clown loaches, archerfish, some peaceful cichlids, scarlet pleco, etc. Since the loaches go bonkers sometimes, it took several months before the morays stopped hiding. Now they cruise around and eat from the top.

Mine currently lives with 1 Yellow Lab Chiclid, 6 Flying Foxes, 6 Silver Flying Foxes and a dwindling number of neon tetras...

I could see that happening. I guess these are "tweener" fish--not robust enough to be with mellow monsters and too much a mini-monster to go in a community tank.

You never know. That guy was in a 300g with a 9-10 inch intermedia peacock bass, tapajos I red pike, silver dollars and pseuda plecos (L24 and spiny monster) and a 14" solver Arowana and a 12" cobia, 5-6" puffer fish and more before.
