I just bought another G. tiles to keep in my brackish tank. I bought him on January 22, 2011. I just got him to start eating this past Friday February 4.

I really wasn't expecting him to eat at all, and thought I was going to lose him. He was being kept in freshwater with cichlids, and had the tip of his tail bitten off. It looks to be healing now, and as I said, he's been eating like a champ. I was very close to trying live feeders, but I did not have to resort to that, and he's had about 3 good meals of tilapia fillet. The day I got him, I only took an hour to try to adjust him to my SG of 1.012, and he seems to be handling it well. He's much more spunky than my original G. tiles, but not nearly as pretty. He looks more washed out grey with not very contrasting "snowflakes." My original G. tiles is a very dark gun-metal gray with stark contrast of dark gray and yellow snowflakes.

Okay, anyway, the point of this thread is to ask where most G. tiles sold in petstores come from. He is rather big, larger than my other G. tiles who the people I got it from had it for a little over a year. They were only feeding a small piece of krill per day, so I believe the smaller one's growth has been stunted due to that, as well as never having water changes :(

Do you think this new one was wild-caught? Are they normally this "easy" to get on feed? Any information would be helpful!
