I noticed one of my 3 inch gachuas opened up the flap of skin under his mouth, and when he blows it up it makes his mouth look bigger. Why does he do this? He does have tankmates, 3 more his size, and a 7 inch fat gachua on the other side of the divider.

Also, at what size do gachuas pair up?

my larger gachua sometimes does it. Especially if he thinks he's getting food. Maybe its a sign of aggression.

yeah maybe its alll about agression...watch the vid...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxIGmYFKYdo

they are territorial and do that to scare other fish away. my striata does that alot and it makes his head almost double its size.

my gauchua are constantly doing that also.. but i prolly gotta get rid of em cuz i can't keep em no more

Yea my 3" gachua does exactly that, minus the chasing and stalking his brothers and sisters. What size do males and females pair up? Anyone know?

yeah mercury i am interested in how you sexed your micros. I haven't been able to find anything on it

I guess determining its sex is prohibited:banhim: :nilly: :WHOA:  I got its info from a pond owner who own's a fishery that breeds tilapias until snakeheads came from nowhere ravaging all of his fishes, till he decides to breed snakeheads..where he realied that snakeheads are more expensive than tilapias :headbang2
