Does anyone know a site that will help me ID gachua. I got a few a month ago and can't tell which strain they are and the breeder was not sure either. Seem to be doing fine at 19c and are quite active.
Thanks in advance

Can't take any really good pictures due to algae on glass, I have attached the best one out of about 20. There is quite an iridescant blue sheen to the anal fin and a couple have a spot at the rear end of the dorsal fin. They have a blueish tinge around the mouth and nr the pectoral fin (this is more colourful one the larger one)

Hi,

the dorsal spot will disappear when they get mature.

Cheers

Brucki - can you point me in the right direction? I want to ID my strain of Gachua - thanks.

Hi,

if you dont know where they are fom, onla DNA analysis can tell for sure.
Even its a juvenile specimen, which will change colour in some weeks time.

cheers..

PS: I would take out the metal around the plant, metal and Aquaria are no go. The fish can get poisoned

Ah. Cheers Brucki - I may never know which strain they are but will enjoy keeping them all the same. Thanks for the tip about the lead, I have it in my asiatica tank also so I better watch my fingers.
