Gaddafi's son was building a huge shark tank!

Just saw this on Gizmodo and had to share:

Apparently this guy really was trying to be something of a James Bond villain.

The article says the tank was 120 tons. I'm too lazy to do the reverse math, but that strikes me as sort of small to be keeping 2 bull sharks, 2 great whites, and 2 black tip sharks.

Shame on him for keeping fish in too small of a tank! And uh, maybe for planning to feed people to them.

I wonder what the cruise company that bought the ship is going to put in there! They say the tank is all set up. What would YOU put in there?

1 ton is 240 gallons of water....sounds big enough to me

That's just talking about the water weight though, not even substrate or any of the actual physical enclosure or equipment. Presumably there's a lot of live rock somewhere. All told, I'm pretty confident my 220 freshwater weighs more like 2 tons. And my tank isn't even big enough for a single great white to fart in!
