i find it hard to beleave that a baby 3" gg would top 16" in 1 year. if it can that is impresive. i would like to see pics with dates to prove that kind of growth.
How big is the GG now? I really don't know that much about GGs. Piggy is the GG man in my neck of the woods. He should be back from fishing soon. He has 2 of them--he will know the growth rate.
I think that in a 90 by itself it would fine for a year. They are real aggressive at around three inches.....hounded my 9 inch aro and chased the large silver dollars.....He is in a seperate tank now while I figure out what do with him/her....I would guess around 12 inches long and pretty think in a year.....still fine for a 18 inch deep 90 I would think.....others will know more!
cool thats what ithought picked up a redtail/fin gg $15. the redfin from what i understand dos not get as large? good to know i wont have to have my brother hold him for awhile.
Im no expert with Giant gourami but i can tell you this, they CAN out grow a 90 in a year. It really depends on the individual fish but i have personally witnessed it in my aquarium with my GG. Yes, Osphronemus laticlavius dont grow as large or grow as fast as Osphronemus gorami but they have the potential to grow very fast and get very large very fast. You should be ok with the 90 for a year but your RTGG may just surprise you with its growth rate.
