I have tried. I had 8 of them in a 5.5 gallon. Temp was on 24 when I first saw the fry. It's just some few eggs per fish, and even few survives. I had alot of javamoss in the bottom and it was there the fish was laying their eggs.
I have tried as well. I had a spawn when I first introduced to my tank but haven't been able to trigger them to do it again. I have heard they are fairly prolific breeders if you can get them going.
Other than java moss or spawning mops (I hear these work well) the only other success I have heard of is based on the frequent water changes and good food approach.
