how many gallons would it take to hold these fish. 4 leopard ctenopoma, 3 butterflyfish, 1 banjo catfish, 1 bumblebee catfish, and 1 java combtail.
 
IMO it would take a minimum of a 75g long (72 x18x13") and a 100g (4" taller) would be better. If you replace the butterfly fish with 5 giant danios (and don't mind losing one every once in a while once the leopards and combfish reach full size) you would be able to go as small as a 55g standard.
The fish you have chosen are not real active for the most part but in order for the butterfly fish to survive they would need weed mats plus running room or the leopards or combtail would take them out, this might also occur with the danios but it is less likely due to their habits. At least they are cheap.
