i really would like some small norhtern pike or some game fish. i can get the basics, so im looking more for fish like pike, muskie, smallmouth, and walleye. i would pay for shipping and handeleing.
I could probably catch you any of those, but I would not suggest the pike unless you want a single fish only tank. I had one and he was a mean SOB. I ended up releasing him back where I got him, cause i couldn't put my hands in the tank without having them come out bloody...
a lg mouth bass is a good fish though as long as his tank mates are the same size or bigger. have you considered that one?
You realize that Muskie and Pike both get over 3 feet, maybe 4 feet long, right? Also, once you put a fish in a tank, you must NEVER release it back into the wild, there are countless threads on the dangers of this.
1. can change wild populations genetics
2. can introduce disease that might not exist in the local, wild waters
3. can be introduced in areas where this fish can out-compete similar native species.
4. it's not legal in just about all 50 states
Basically we know what impact foreign fish have had on our native populations of fish but we often overlook that fish native to North America can and have done much more than foreign releases. When fish get released, our hobby is one step closer to tighter restrictions.
Well i wasent really thinking about putting snakeheads in my local lake, but more of the lines of baby bass i caught previously there, but parasites is a main concern. I just thought it was stupid they should make licenses for people to catch and relese, and take a class, ect..
