So I placed my tank (60x26x18) on its stand and it is level every which way, length wise width wise and corner to corner. Stand is level corner to corner. I noticed there is a gap at the center of the tank in the front where the black trim is not touching the 3/4" ply. The gap is about 1/16" at the center then diminishes toward each corner. Tank has plumbing connected and sand in it, no water yet.

The gap is only in the front, not in the back. My assumption is that the trim on the tank is not totally level and has a slight bow.

What are my options to fix my situation that don't include cutting the plumbing and pulling the tank off the stand?

Thanks,

hello; My first suggestion is to get a straight edge and determine which part is not true, the tank or the stand. Odds are it will turn out to be the stand.

Yeah, the more I think about it. The only way to be 100% certain what the problem is I'm going to have to pull the tank off the stand and check it again.

Hopefully it's the plywood, that's the only negative about lumber is using material that is bowed by mistake.

Trim tank only need support in all 4 corners. I have a 6x2x2 180g that has ran like this for almost 4 years
Just for my sanity, would you mind posting a picture of your tank and stand? I have heard this before as well, but wasn't sure how true it is.

I have two 75 gal on a double deck iron stand. I can slide a post card freely along the bottom front of the tanks and the deck, so the tanks are bridging over the ends. The tanks have been holding water in the same set up for 20 years.

I just checked my 125 gal on wood cabinet. I did not detect any gap. If your stand long beam has no center support, it will bow and create a gap.

The long beam has double 2x4s at each corner and in the center.
