Gar acting strange -Questions for u all.

i have a 10+ in florida gar , had him for around a year . yesterday i found him struggling to get out of a pot in the tank(strange as he never enters any pot or pipe)i pulled him out when he was not struggling anymore and hes now pale and loses his balance and flips around . all other fish are fine . am i safe to assume he needed to go on top to breath air ?? as i see him gulp air all the time and afther i released him he did so all the time very frequently.


Currently he is in my sump to prevent all other fish from picking on him , what are ure ideas?

nah , just a few nips on his fins from a convict tacking advantage of him being stuck , was worried about his spine as well but no deformities.i placed him back into the main tank and hes looking a bit better . wish i had a cam at hand for pics.

unfortunatly xander, i think its kinda cool. I think it shouldnt be a staple but considering what he fed his gar before( KFC) its a step up.
