My Florida and Sen did fine awhile back, I don't see why not just provide some hiding for the Sen in case your Long Nose loses his cool.

Sizes of the two?
They should have more than enough room to hopefully coexist, lol, I just can't keep the Senegal in the 60-Gallon seems how I now have some African Cichlid fry slowly disappearing. :nilly:

The Florida was 8" and the Sen was about 5" and in a 55g.

I've been surprised more than I wish to remember when it comes to tankmates eating tankmates. My rule of thumb has become;

If you have the slightest doubt, LISTEN TO IT!!

Murphy works doubletime in this hobby.

A 16" predator WILL look upon a 5" tankmate as an a la carte menu item.

lol, looks like I'll have to move him to a different tank instead. Time to shuffle some stuff around again.
Thanks Oddball, and good point on the doubt part... normally have the same thing happen every now and again... :nilly:

I know that while LNG may indeed have the smallest gap width of the Gars, it still can swallow long and skinny fish (like Bichirs) with the greatest of ease. My LNG swallowed a Florida gar at around 2/3's its body length!

my 18" florida has been with endli, ornate, sens when they were 5"+- and there was no issues...the fact that my gar isn't like your average gar should be taken into account...if you do try it watch the gar...if it just gives it a snif and then nothing more chances are that it will not even give it a second look...if it nudges, pushes, or follows it around better seperate as it is working up to the bite test...that is what i have experienced with my gar and a few others that i have seen with newly added tankmates...
