Ok so theres a gar im thinkin about gettin at a lfs, the thing is that the tip of its top mouth is bent in a little probably from bangin into the glass.. just wondering if this getis better? Also there is no idea on the guy but im having a hard time figuring what kind he is, there is a pretty thick black band that goes down him w/ spots under and ontop.. any ideas?

well i guess its not so much of a bend more lik a bump kinda lik in your avatar.. is this normal? I see most gars w/ out that bump but the only time I rembere seeing a bunch of gars w/ it was when they were all skittish and hitting the glass.. i just figured thats wat it was from
yeah the callouse on the tip of the nose is normal. some are more noticable than others though. if the callouse is whitish in color the white will go away w/ time. if it looks like my gar in my avatar then it is a florida. they are the most common (true gar) in the fish trade. awsome fish though! i highly recomend them..as long as you have the room for one.
No the markings are different, ill probably pick him up if theres a resonable price tag.. are gars born w/ that callouse?
