Gar feeding

Hey guys, does anyone know any food that gars really love? i have 2 spotted gar and i been feeding them shrimp sometime they eat it sometime they dont. i want to feed him a type of food that they love the most so they can grow big

i believe i have 2 spotted gars, im not 100% sure if it is a spotted gar because most people said spotted gar and florida gar look the same. but yes to answer your question i do have 2 gars

edit: I just realize that Cali could mean a city and not the state of California in the US. Are you from California or some where else? if you're in the US and in a state where gar are illegal to keep, you're best to stop posting before the FWD see this tread and trace your IP to your home address.

when u said "all gars" are illegal in Cali, then my lfs wouldn't be selling them. if you are talking about the true alligator gar that can grow to 10ft long in the mid US, then no i don't have those.

No, all 7 species of gar are illegal in California.
Your lfs sell them because they don't know a thing about state regulations, not because they are not illegal.

im not sure what you mean by true gar and im not sure if my gars are true gar but thank you for the info
