Hello.. I have 2 spotted gar & 2 longnose & 1 rtc... are they compatible?
tnx..

Welcome to MFK! I would say so just watch them closely. Many will say no they're not because the RTC will spook them. But in my tank they pretty much leave eachother alone

Would need sizes before we could talk to you about the catfish.

As to the gar, they should be compatible, but Longnose can be a little more temperamental and also will grow bigger, so just keep your eye out. If I had all those gar I would definitely be attempting to keep them together.

I have indoor pond 10x2.5x1.5.... and x2 60 gallon tank with peacock bass & hujeta

Well the 2.5' tank width will not be good long term for the longnose gar. They are likely to reach about 3' in length (possibly bigger), and will need something closer to 4' wide to be comfortable in. You may consider building/buying a pond that's more like 8x4, 8x6, 10x4, or 10x6. Those will all be better sizes for the longnose gar.

The rtc will also need the large footprint as it grows, as it will also likely reach a size of 4' long eventually.

The gar and rtc can coexist, you'll just have to be ready and prepared to separate if any aggression starts to occur.

if im not wrong cb longnose wont get much bigger than 3', even that's pretty unlikely. do agree with u about the rtc though. and also, i wouldn't mix an rtc with a longnose when the depth is only 1.5'

hey I heard that long nose can reach in 5'... can I stunted their size? Ok guyz. tnx I think I will rebuild my pond. I'll make 10x4x4.. is that ok?

I've heard both 6ft and 78 inches for wild size(I'm leaning towords 78 for maximum size and 6ft for record, but its hard to verify), but in captivity they rarley get past 2ft, a 30 incher is a giant, and a 3 footer is almost unheard of. And no, stunting is not a good idea;)

ok tnx guyz.. Spotted & Longnose are compatible!! how about my cat? rtc? are they compatible when they get bigger?
