Gar growth?

Iv had this little guy for a while now and he hasn’t seemed to have grown any at all hes probably 4” at the most eats every time I feed him at least twice a day, he eats chunks frozen krill and crushed up massivore. what’s the growth rate for these guys.

iv had this one for about 4-5 months and nothing.

it could be stunted... try getting feeder guppys and feed them some flakes then put about 20 in, and when he eats them all, refill.... You should see some growth quickly

Keep him on that plan till he is where you would like him to be. I might start breeding my own guppys because he goes through them like crazy.

More like close to 1/2" to 3/4" a week.

My last two Longnose gar went from 3"-4" to 12" in about a month and a half. Keep the tank full of feeders! they shouldn't run out for the first month or two. keep feeding them the prepared food though since at 12"+ you should have them off live food for the most part.

Well im going to put him in his own tank for a while and just cram the tank full of feeders ,I cat believe your guise’s have grown that much that quick I just thought maybe they were slow growers but I hope this works I want to put him in my 400 but he would be way to small write now.Thanks
