I was told this is a "crocodile gar" but can anyone confirm what this is? (excuse the bad camera phone pics

It's about 5 inches. I got tricked !

Anyone else want to chime in? I thought it looked a bit like an alligator gar due to the spots on its body/tail

It is definately not an Atractosteus species. I would say it is a florida/spotted, but you are likely better off with this than a gator.
