Can someone help ID this gar for me please. I bought it as a Florida Gar and now I am not sure.

it's definitely down to two species...Florida gar and spotted gar; given the snout on that fish and some other traits as well as seasonality, i would say this is very likely a Florida gar.
in terms of some of the very small (2-3") gars out there being sold, look out because many suppliers are continuing to call Florida gars alligator gars...and the differences between juvenile Lepisosteus and the gator gar are quite significant.
