Just curious what type of gar this is, it was labled florida gar.

Looks like a florida to me....Maybe E_Americanus or Polypterus can confirm this.

Hard to say with 100% assurance...I would go for Florida as being accurate given the size of the fish at this time. Please keep posting updates as the fish grows the ID will be a bit more clear a bit further down the road.

i agree with the above statements...most likely a Florida gar. updated pics as the fish grows will help, but again, given the time of year and size of that fish, Florida gar seems accurate--
