Gar Nipping at stingray

Well, I thought that Florida Gars and Motoros would be a good mix......Maybe not!!!

I have noticed that a couple of times during feeding my Bigger Florida Gar. 13" when feeding and searching for food after a feeding has bit the edge of the disc and the eye of my motoro. He hasent made any marks and it doesent seem to bother my motoro too bad but... I should remove him now.... ya think?

I want to eventually breed them and with this going on it would hinder this....right?

SHould this be a big concern? He never does it any other time just when the food sinks he goes after it and cannot see good.

I am so disappointed if i need to get rid of him. He adds action to my tank.

If it were me I would get rig of it. I wouldnt want my ray permanently injured.

Yea I will i just hate to. I have to make the decision if I want rays or gars.....Rays will win that!

I is probably just searching for food and will soon realize that your rays are not food. How long have you had them together?

It depends on how serious on rays you are, If you want to take no risks, move em'.

I definitly do not want to take any risks.... My rays are my priority!

god I wish I had your problem my ray trys to eat my gars... I wouldn't worry about it... just keep a eye on it

Really? what is the size comparison?

My ray is about 6 1/2" o.d.

Gar is about 13"


My Female ray is about 7-7 1/2" and he seems to leave her alone pretty much. I saw her (ray) on top of him nibbiling a little. But she seems to stay hidden a lot more than my male.
